GRAND BANK HERITAGE SOCIETY

The Town of Grand Bank is an historically and culturally rich community. Historical documents indicate there may have been French fishermen in Grand Bank as early as 1640.

And from these early beginnings, the life of Grand Bank revolved around the sea. From the primitive inshore fishery of the 1700 and 1800's to the era of the bank fishery of the nineteenth century to today's modern steel vessel operation, the fishery continues to play a prominent role.

In an effort to preserve the rich culture and history of the town during these eras, a heritage society was formed.

The Grand Bank Heritage Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and publication of the rich history of Grand Bank. The organization is open to all residents of the town.
